Garden Fields School
In the summer of 2009 Garden
Fields School in St Albans
contracted us to install 950m2
of No Mow synthetic turf
surfacing. This followed on from
a project we completed for the
school in 2008 when we laid
some 600m2 of wet pour safer
surfacing.
When our agent, Chris Symons,
visited the school he found two
areas of their grounds that were
either dust bowls in the summer
or mud baths in the winter. After
discussing the various options
available, head teacher, Terri
Clift, decided to use No Mow to
solve the problem.
The work involved regrading a
grass / mud bank that was too
steep by constructing a sleeper
retaining wall, resetting drain
covers to the revised levels,
and building a set of steps. The
result is an area that’s now
useable all year round, that
looks terrific and where it is
impossible to tell that the
surface is not real grass until it’s
walked on!
Whilst we were at the school we
also laid No Mow to another
problem area under some trees.

the installation of No Mow
made.
